Definition
- The difference between Total Dissolved Nitrogen (TDN) and Dissolved Inorganic Nitrogen (DIN), which comprises nitrate-N (NO3-), ammonia-N (NH4+) and nitrite-N (NO2-). DON is not a single compound but a mixture of compounds ranging from simple amino acids to complex humic substances.
