Definition

  • [Henderson's] n. type of mycorrhiza in which the fungal hyphae form a sup­erficial covering and do not extensively penetrate the root. It is found on both coniferous and broadleaved forest trees, the infecting fungi being chiefly higher basidiomycetes.
